Finding out that you or your loved one has breast cancer is the beginning of a difficult, frightening, and often confusing period in your life. Digital marketing executive and creator of the first medical encyclopedia on the internet, Todd Hartley, understands the struggle that comes with diagnosis well.
After Todd’s step-mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, he teamed up with international breast cancer expert and former president of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Dr. Jay K. Harness, MD, FACS.
Together, they began Breast Cancer Answers to help women all over the world that face similar situations.
Only a year after BCA started producing videos to answer questions from breast cancer patients, Todd’s wife, Wendy, became the next cancer patient in his life. Fortunately, both Todd’s wife and step-mother are healthy survivors today, and Breast Cancer Answers has helped countless patients find comfort by learning more about their diagnosis and treatment strategies.
Since 2011, Breast Cancer Answers has supported the journey of breast cancer patients by providing comprehensive answers to the difficult questions that come with diagnosis. With nearly 2,000 videos featuring leading experts in research, BCA educates women and families on all aspects of breast cancer, from the medical facts to life after survival, and much more.
With over 700,000 followers, 9 million video views, audience watch times that exceed 260,000 minutes a month, and the largest library of expert to patient breast cancer videos, Breast Cancer Answers has created a community of support for those that are battling breast cancer.
Over the years, Breast Cancer Answers has partnered with many leading cancer fighting organizations such as:
Breast Cancer Answers was also asked by Google to host and produce several of their live streaming events, such as World Cancer Day 2013, Breast Cancer Awareness Month from 2012 through 2014, and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.
The combined success of Breast Cancer Answers and spin-off campaigns, Colon Cancer Answers and Prostate Cancer Live, has generated over 1.1 million social followers in 12 months alone.
